Product Description
Pago de los Capellanes Reserva is made from 100% Tempranillo.
After carefully monitoring the vineyards, we determine the date of the harvest based on the maturity of the grapes. The varieties are collected and fermented separately in 20,000 litre tanks.
In 2007, production was just less than 5000 kg per hectare. This wine is prepared with Tempranillo 100% grapes from our vineyards.
The grapes are initially subjected to a six-day pre-fermentation cold maceration below 14ºC. They then undergo 30 days of alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28ºC, after which the wine is removed from the tanks without pressing the grape skins. The malolactic fermentation is slow and relaxed at a temperature of 20 ºC for 28 days without the addition of bacteria.
The wine is aged for18 months in new French oak barrels and is decanted into new barrels every six months. At the end of this period, the wine is blended and bottled without undergoing any type of filtration, clarification or cold treatment.
Prepared with Tempranillo grapes (100%), this wine has a ruby red colour with very pure, intense garnet tones.
Its bouquet has fine complexity with tones of ripened fruit, especially cherries, blue berries and black currants, which are in harmony with tones of good wood, spices (vanilla and coconut) and a liquorice undertone.
In the mouth, this wine displays great balance, proving pleasing to the taste, sweet due to the maturity of its tannins and exuberant on account of its pleasant level of acidity.

Pago De Los Capellanes Estate
Pago de los Capellanes is located barely a kilometre from the village of Pedrosa de Duero, nestled deep in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region of Spain.
In the 14th century, a chaplainry existed in the village of Pedrosa de Duero. The inhabitants of the village donated small parcels of land to the chaplains in appreciation for the religious duties that they performed in the area.
Over time, the chaplainry came to have a sizeable landholding.
Some 500 years later, in 1855, the properties of the church and clergy were given over to the city council as part of the Ecclesiastical Confiscations of Mendizábal. Despite this, the inhabitants of Pedrosa continued to call the area “Pago de los Capellanes” in honour of the chaplains.
The estate was home to vineyards. Vines cultivated for generations. Today, these have grown to become one of the most prestigious wineries in the Ribera del Duero region, the Rodero Villa Winery.

Pago De Los Capellanes Vineyards
The vineyards of Pago de los Capellanes only grow Tinto Fino or Tempranillo grapes, the variety indigenous to the Ribera del Duero region.
Although the winery was initially founded with just a few select vines, we have expanded year after year with plantings of our best clones.
The plants that show the best adaptation to the soil and climate are selected in the field for further plantings. This ensures ample variety of parcels in the vineyard.
Each plot receives personalised care matching its unique features, so that we can harvest the best possible fruit.

Incredibly concentrated dark berry fruit with fabulously angular tannins with smooth long beams with crisp edges. Solomon Hills Estate Pinot Noir is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
Solomon Hills Pinot Noir is always distinctive and singular in its ability to harness the Coastal influence of Santa Maria Valley. Earth tones alongside briar bush and blueberries contrast aromas of forest floor and fired red clay. The noticeable savory elements of cracked black pepper and teriyaki beef nicely balance ripe cherries and blackberries on the palate.

I loved the bouquet of the 2021 Pinot Noir Solomon Hills, a light ruby-hued effort with perfumed darker cherry, mulberry, leafy herb, and smoked earth nuances. It's medium-bodied, has a layered, seamless texture, integrated tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It's absolutely brilliant. Enjoy bottles over the coming decade or more.

“1752” is the name of the Damilano Barolo Cannubi Riserva, in honor of the year in which the historic bottle was first marked “Cannubi”. It still exists today perfectly conserved by the Manzone family in Bra, close to Barolo. The bottle is clearly marked as being of “1752” vintage, indicating that Cannubi historically precedes Barolo.

The Cannubi Cru is in found within one of the 6 core zones which comprise a UNESCO heritage site in Italy. A mixture of Tortonian and Helvetian calcareous marl gives the grapes intense aromas of cherry, plum and tobacco, rose and violet in sequence. Its low potassium and high calcium/magnesium content offer the wine a fine and polished touch. The vineyard is located at about 270 m. a.s.l. and has a south-east sun exposure. Barolo Riserva Cannubi 1752 It is a small plot of about 2 hectares of Nebbiolo vines, currently between 30 and 50 years of age.

I feel this wine expresses the greatness of California and its hidden pockets where Cabernet can excel. The cold Pacific Ocean running the entire length of the state presents maritime influences – and with each small distance eastward the climate warms. This is a phenomenal Barolo from a benchmark vintage. It’s so powerful and structured with toned and muscular tannins that run the length of the wine. Classic structure. Full-bodied but tight and intense. Flavors of forest floor, fresh mushroom, truffle, and cedar. Dried flowers, too. It goes on for minutes. This needs at least eight years to soften. Leave in the cellar! One of the greatest Cannubis ever. From the original parcel of the vineyard. Aged five years in cask and two years in bottle.

Grapes selected manually from our vineyards located on the southern slopes of Monte Yerga in the “Cuesta la Reina” estate. Grapes that are harvested with the utmost care, transported at low temperature in fruit boxes to the winery to avoid any damage to the fruit.
Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts and the wine is kept in maceration for 30 days while breaking the cap daily. Afterwards, the wine is transferred to oak barrels where it remains for 17 months before bottling.

"The 2019 Vinsacro Dioro Selección is a Vidau field blend sourced from Monte Yerga in Rioja Oriental. Aged for 18 months in French and Eastern European oak barrels, it is only released after five years in the cellar. Once the grapes are brought into the winery, the tanks are seeded with indigenous yeast (start culture) and the alcoholic fermentation begins. During the barrelling period, which lasts 30 days, the wine is crushed and pumped over daily, all the while controlling the density, temperature and evolution of the yeast. At the end of this fermentation, the tanks are emptied and the wine taken for malolactic fermentation.

In 2014,Pago de los Capellanes founded its new winery, O Luar do Sil, in Seadur (Valdeorras). With this winery, the Rodero Villa family fulfilled its dream of producing white wine 100% with their philosophy. A special, complex and intense wine that can be kept for a very long time.
Currently, they already make 3 white wines in this region, in a location that has allowed them to make their wines with all the expression of the variety and the character of the terroir, thanks to a traditional viticulture.
O Luar do Sil Godello is a wine made with Godello, from vineyards planted on granitic hillside in the village of Seadur.
After the manual harvest and a careful selection of the grapes on a selection table, the grapes are completely destemmed. Once their temperature has been lowered to 9ºC, they rest for 4 hours in the macerators. From here, the grapes go on to the press, and with a gentle pressing they extract top-quality must. Must fermentation is carried out in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature. Once the fermentation has ended, the lees are separated from the wine, which is left to rest for a few months until it is bottled.
Pago de los Capellanes Tinto Joven is made from 100% Tempranillo.

Winemaker Joe Harden ages his Truchard Vineyard Chardonnay for 10 months in 30% new French oak, with minimal stirring and no malolactic fermentation, allowing for a slightly more pronounced oak presence. Truchard, one of Carneros' most esteemed sites, is characterised by rolling hills with ideal sun exposure and cooling breezes. Harden sources fruit from eight distinct blocks across the vineyard’s expansive 109 hectares, with harvests spanning roughly a month. Among the selections is Clone 809, a Muscat clone that adds floral aromatics and a touch of baking spice. The Truchard Chardonnay exhibits a silky texture on the palate, layered with citrus peel and tropical hints of apricot and peach.
