Product Description

Rubus Brut Rose is made from 60% Tempranillo, 40% Bobal.

The Rubus Project was created by Fran Kysela as a way to source & sell incredible wines at value prices. All wines in this international project are hand-selected by Fran Kysela. Rubus wines are fruit driven, true-to-type values that over deliver - a true representation of quality for the consumer at an excellent price.

Stunning salmon-pink hues. The nose is intense and fine, dominated by notes of red berries. On the palate, the combination of fine bubbles and delicate aromas produces a delightfully light and silky rosé.


Machine harvest. The base wine is fermented at a low temperature. The second fermentation takes place at 14°C for 2 weeks, followed by dosing.

The Rubus Concept
Rubus wines are a private label created and used by Kysela Pere et Fils, LTD in order to buy, bottle and market wine found at incredible quality/price ratio. All Rubus wines are selected by Fran Kysela MS.

It was first used for a superb batch of 1,200 cases of Amador county Zinfandel back in 1997.  The wine sold in a few days and the Rubus brand was not used since then.

During a trip in California in 2009, when Fran Kysela tasted some incredible wines (available in bottle but without label), he decided to help resurrect the brand creating an outstanding  Cabernet Sauvignon from Stag's Leaps district in Napa Valley (California) , followed by an excellent Chardonnay from Russian River Valley (California)

We then developed the Rubus Zinfandel from Lodi (California).

In 2011, we added a Shiraz/Viognier blend from the Barossa in Australia.

For 2012, the newest addition to the Rubus line is a Chardonnay from Colchagua Valley in Chile.

Rubus is now its own brand representing quality for the consumer and an incredible price along the way.

Rubus Meaning
The name RUBUS means "raspberry" in Latin and it is the name given to the genus of flowering plants in the rose family. For instance, here are some famous fruit from the Rubus family with their latin names:

Colmant Brut Rose NV  is made from 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay

This wine spends a minimum of 24 months on the lees at a consistent temperature of 14C before degorgement.15% of the base wine has been barrel fermented.

Pinot Noir 75%, Chardonnay 25% (Franschhoek, Robertson and Elgin).

15% of the blend is made of reserve wine from the previous vintages and 15% of the base wine is barrel fermented.

Perfect as a summer sundowner. A delicious complement to white meat, strawberry dessert and decadent dark chocolate.

"The Brut Rosé (disgorged March 2018) is a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay with 15% base wine and 15% reserve wine, with the Pinot Noir macerated on its skins for color, matured on the lees for 24 months. Deep salmon in color, it has a fine mousse and attractive strawberry and cherry scents on the nose - no shy and retiring rosé here. The palate is well balanced with Braeburn apples, hints of strawberry and a touch of tart cherries fanning out toward the creamy-textured, satisfying finish. A sparkling rosé that’s proud to be pink!- Neal Martin"

Rebuli Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene Brut Zerogrammi NV

Rebuli Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene Brut Zerogrammi NV  is made from 100% Glera (Known as Prosecco)

Color: Straw yellow with greenish reflections. Compact and durable foam, fine perlage.
Nose: very intense creating the scents of flower, light notes of peach, pear, almond blossom, tarragon and mineral notes.
Taste: dry, smooth and rich in the mouth. Its floral taste recalls acacia flowers. Aromatic and balanced finish

Production Area: Valdobbiadene, Vittorio Veneto
Soil: calcareous, clayey
Grapes: Glera (known as Prosecco) 100%
Harvest: Manual, with selection of the grapes.
Winemaking: destemming of grapes and cooling to 15°C. Soft pressing of the grapes with membrane presses, settling of must, fermentation and controlled temperature (18°C)
Fermentation: italian method with controlled temperature (14-15°C) performed with selected yeats. cold stabilization (4°C) and microfiltration before isobaric bottling. Cycle time about 60 days.

Roland Champion Champagne Brut Rose Grand Cru NV is the blend of 20% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Meunier, 40% Pinot Noir. 

Small red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, cherry), characteristic of Pinot Noir with some brioche, toasted aromas coming from the Pinot Meunier. Clear and vinous. Development of red fruit aromas (blackcurrant) on a spice backdrop (cinnamon) and a nice fresh cut apple, grapefruit flavor. A fresh, lively and delicate flavor. Ideal balance between Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir.
 
dosage : 8 grams per liter
ageing : 3.5 years on laths
Even if it doesn't say on the label, 100% of the production is RD (Recently Disgorged)
Total Production for this Cuvée : between 150 cases and 330 cases (9 liter equivalent) per year

Trouillard Elexium Rose Brut NV

Trouillard Elexium Rose Brut NV rosé cuvée is made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes and aged for 3 years on the lees. The color is a seductive salmon pink with fine bubbles. The Pinot Noir gives this fruity wine its rich bouquet of raspberries and fresh-baked bread. On the palate it is rich yet balanced with lashings of red-berry fruitiness and an ephemeral creaminess. Rubus Vin-Gris Rose 2018

Rubus Vin-Gris Rose is made from 80% Grenache, 10% Carignan, 10% Cinsault

Pale pink rose color, a classic gris de gris wine with salmon hues. Delicate strawberry nose, seamless and fine pointed.

For this special project, the producer had to focus on the pruning technique, ploughing, lowering the yields, sorting the grapes, selecting the tanks, with a permanent focus on the respect of the environment.

All the grapes were harvested by hand. In the cellar, vats hygiene, temperature control, ultramodern pressing contribute to a better expression of the terroir.

Enjoy as an aperitif or with grilled fish, shellfish and appetizers.
