Torre La Villa Chianti Colli Senesi 2015


Intense vinous bouquet with a beguiling blackberry and violet notes.
On the palate round and robust with hints of wild berries, dark cherry and spice. This Chianti has excellent acidity and a long cherry filled finish.

Grapes: 80% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo and 10% Malvasia Nera
Vineyards: La Torre is one of the original estates in San Gimignano and has 350 hectares in the hills of San Gimignano. It has clay, marl and calcareous soil with a large percentage of rocks and stones for good drainage. The vineyards lie at 300 to 400 meters. Vines are an average of 15 years old.
Harvest: October - by hand
Yield per hectare: 75 Quintals per hectare
Vinification: Fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. The juice is pumped over twice daily. The maceration period is about 15 days.
Aging: 10 months in large Slavonian oak casks

Alcohol: 12.5%

Pairs well with white and red meats, traditional Tuscan dishes.

Torre Castillo Jumilla Alegre 2011 is made from 100% Monastrell (Mourvedre) with a selection of the oldest vines.

The Torre Castillo Estate
Torre Castillo is a family owned winery run by Julian Lopez Lizan. It is located in Montealegre del Castillo, in the heart of the D.O. Jumilla. The family built a new cellar in 1996 and got new equipment that allowed them to take advantage of the most modern techniques to produce high quality wine. Also, they own 700 oak barrels. After spending two years experimenting two different vineyards, they had their first harvest in 1997 and released their first vintage in 2000. They started to export their wines in 2003. The export market keeps growing and now represents 60%.

The Torre Castillo Vineyards
They own 100 hectares of vines planted to Monastrell grapes (also known as Mourvedre or Mataro). The wine region of Jumilla is quite large and spreads over the province of Murcia and Albacete, in south-eastern Spain. It is a rugged country, where the vineyards grow on a high plateau surrounded by mountains. Cultivating grapes has been a tradition for more than 2000 years and particularly Monastrell, that benefits from excellent growing conditions in the area. The limestone soils and the harsh climate (with temperature over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in summer, plunging to below freezing in winter, the scarce rainfall) enable Monastrell grapes to develop their color and flavors to the fullest.

Albada Garnacha Calatayud 2014


ALBADA Garnacha is a young wine from very-old Grenache vines. Stress on the fruit intensity to express a true Garnacha and the terroir of origin. This is a young and fun yet very complex wine. The wine spent eight months in contact with its own lees in American Oak Barrels.
Intense ruby color with garnet and purple hues. The aromas are intense with a great varietal expression. We have a lot of red and black berries, with some notes of spice, well integrated with vanilla and leather components coming from the barrel aging in American Oak. The wine is structured and has a very nice mouthfeel, but the tannins are soft and the finish is long.

Rubus Proprietary Red Blend Australia 2014

Tasting Notes: Deep, dark ruby color, aromas of blue fruits, confectionery and subtle licorice characters, thick luscious palate with good structure and soft finish.

The Blend is 44% Rubired, 31% Durif and 25% Shiraz.

Rubired is a cross between Tinto Cao and Alicante Ganzin (which is itself a cross between Alicante Bouschet and Aramon Rupestris Ganzin). It is known for being particularly adapted to the hot climate and producing dark wines, as the color is not only coming from the grape's skin, but also from the grape juice itself. It was developed in 1958 by H.P. Olmo of the University of California Davis.

Durif, also known as Petite Sirah, is also a cross of two different grape varietals: Syrah and Peloursin. It was created by French botanist François Durif in 1860 while keeping Syrah and Peloursin plants under the same roof; it happened from a natural process called "cross-pollination." The grape itself is known for its very aromatic, plummy character.

Shiraz, which we all know for being the most recognized grape varietal of Australia, brings some minty, spicy and fruity characteristics to the wines.

Grapes are crushed and destemmed then placed in rotary fermenters where three rotations per day break up the cap and extract color and tannin. Commercial yeast is added for fermentation. The juice is pressed to stainless steel for malolactic fermentation, undergoes oak maturation for 9 months, then is stored in stainless steel.

Pairs well with BBQ lamb with roast vegetables.

Pale golden color. Fine, persistent bubbles. Floral nose with a hint of spiciness, gentle fruitiness (peach, apricot), and lovely balance. Fruity and lively in the palate, it has a clean and crisp finish. This wine will suit any special occasion.
