"The 2014 Lirac Cuvee de La Reine des Bois is an incredible effort that transcends the vintage and is easily the wine of the vintage from Lirac. Possessing fabulous purity and elegance, with medium to full-bodied richness, classic notes of crème de cassis, caramelized meats, violets and licorice, sweet tannin and a great finish, I doubt it will be the longest lived example of this cuvée, but man, hats off to the team for this killer wine in a difficult vintage! - Jeb Dunnuck"

Mordoree Condrieu Reine des Bois 2014

Mordoree Condrieu Reine des Bois is made from 100 percent Viognier.

Domaine de la Mordorée owned this vineyards in the condrieu appelation.

The vineyard was abandonned back in the 1960 as the work couldn't be done by machine. Christophe Delorme found some old plantings of Viognier in the middle of the growing vegatation that took over the piece of property.

The planting was completly redone in 2004.

Surface : 0,75 Ha.
Yield : 15 Hl./Ha
Vineyard age: 9 years
Terroir: granitic debris on a stiff slope
Harvest: by hand
Vinification: skin contact maceration and direct pressing
Fermentation: already used oak barrels

Color: dense Gold with green hues
Aromas: white and yellow fruits (mango, passion, white peach) and flower (violet)
Flavors: very round, long and complex with a lot of freshness

The soil is extremely poor, which is great for low yield, intense and concentrated wines.

Some asiatic dishes, merely those whish are rich and complex, sweet and sour cuisine, foie gras and aperitive.

Moving to the reds from Lirac, the estate releases two cuvées: the base la Dame Rousse and the flagship La Reine des Bois. The 2015 Lirac Cuvée de la Reine des Bois is a beauty and has a distinct minerality in its black raspberry, black cherry, graphite and bouquet garni-like aromas and flavors. Beautifully rich, supple and textured on the palate, yet with plenty of underlying grip and structure, it should hit the ground running and drink nicely through 2025. -Wine Advocate 90-92 Points

Mordoree Tavel Rose Les Vestides 2015

Mordoree Tavel Rose Les Vestides is made from 60% Grenache, 30% Cinsault and 10% Syrah.

This wine is very similar in style to the Dame Rousse Cuvée. The main difference is that it is made from grapes not certified organic yet. The parcel is currently being converted to Organic after Domaine de la Mordorée acquired it in 2013. It will take 3 years total to become certified organic and it might be integrated in the Dame Rousse in the future.

The second difference is that the soil type is slightly different. In the Dame Rousse, the soils is composed of Quartz round pebbles on the Villafranchienne terrace of Vallongue. For the Vestides, the soils is made of flat limestome rocks, originating from the Berremien crumbled hill-stones.

Steady pink, brilliant and limpid color. Very complex nose with flowers, red and white fruits aromas. Round, full bodied with a long lasting aniseed and fruity finish.

Food pairing: cold meat and delicatessen, poultry, white meats, grilled meats, fried fish, fish soup, pastas, pizzas and all Asian cuisine.

Pale ruby, Les Vestides is in a class by itself. Showing sumptuous scents of wild red berries, the palate is dense yet fresh with concentrated, vibrant fruit with excellent sugar/acid balance, finishing with rich flavor and extract. More pure, focused and elegant than the La Belle Voyageuse cuvee, the 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvee de la Reine des Bois is reminiscent of the 2006 with it’s beautiful fruit, medium to full-bodied richness, and solid overall concentration and length. Made from 75% Grenache, 14% Mourvèdre, 7% Syrah and 2% each of Counoise and Vaccarese, it saw a 30-day maceration and aging in 70% stainless steel tanks and 30% in barrels. It should be one of the earlier drinking vintages for this cuvée, yet it will still have 10-15 years of overall longevity (which is saying something in this vintage). - Wine Advocate 92-94 Points

Segries Tavel Rose is made from 50% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 15% Clairette, 5% Syrah. The age of the vines is 30 years. Traditional vinification at low temperature, "vin de saignée" with a maceration during one night in cement vat.

This is large for a Rose...structured and focused, with the color of dark ruby. The nose is loaded up with fresh fruit. Strawberry, blackcurrant, and raspberry beam from the glass. On the palate, the mouth-feel is ripe and succulent. It has strength, but maintains its fresh and crisp expression. The finish is filled with Asian spice and slight hints of smoke. Drink this juice now or over the next year or two.

Corne Loup Tavel Rose is made from  65% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 10% Syrah and the remaining 10% are Mourvèdre, Clairette and Carignan

The average age of the vines is 20 years.

Alain de la Treille Le Rose is made from 40% Gamay, 40% Cabernet Franc and 20% Pinot Noir

This dry Rosé is very aromatic on the fruitiness with a great style and elegance.

Average age of the vines is 25 years old.

We produce a part of this cuvee with 12 hours skin maceration and another part from directly pressed grapes.

 Wine was slightly filtered before bottling to insure the wine remains stable.

This wine is the perfect friend for barbecue, salads and of course aperitif. This is ideal for warm days in the garden, as well as elegant poultry dishes.

Anne Delaroche Cotes du Rhone Rose Bejot 2016

Anne Delaroche Cotes du Rhone Rose Bejot is made from 50% Grenache, 50% Syrah.

Very charming pale rosé color. The wine displays lots of fresh fruit aromas such as strawberry and watermelon. The palate is focused and very well balanced with again some strawberry and ripe red fruit notes. The finish is quite pleasing and long with a little spiciness and freshness to it.

Lima Vinho Verde Rose 2016

Lima Vinho Verde Rose is made from 75% Souzao, 15% Borraçal and 10% Espadeiro.

It is a blend of 75% Souzao (same as Vinhao), 15% Borraçal (which is also known as Caino Tinto) and 10% Espadeiro:

Souzão (or Sousão or Vinhão) is a Portuguese wine grape that is used in the production of port wine. While originating in the Minho regions, it is used primarily in Australia, California and South Africa. In Portugal, it is also an authorized planting in the Douro, and Dão-Lafões area (Vinho do Dão). The grape is known for the deep color it produces in a wine as well as its coarse and raisiny taste.

Caiño tinto (also known as Borraçal) is a red Galician wine grape variety that is also grown in Portugal's Vinho Verde wine region where it is known as Borraçal. In Spain, it is a permitted variety in the Denominación de Origens (DOs) of Rías Baixas and Ribeiro where it produces highly perfumed wines with noticeable tartness and high acidity.

Espadeiro is a red Portuguese wine grape planted primarily in the Minho region for making Vinho Verde. It is also grown across the border, in Spain, in Galicia where it is used to make light bodied wines.

Sainte Victoire Cotes de Provence Rose is made with 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Cinsault

Bright, crisp, fruity rosé from Provence.

Sainte Victoire became its own AOC within the AOC Cotes de Provence in 2005. It is more demanding in term of yields, vinification and quality than the general AOC Cotes de Provence. Green harvest and in the cellar, using a sorting table in order to keep only the best grapes for the macerations.

A natural match to enjoy with salad, chicken, grilled salmon, just simply with an hamburger or on his own, colder, during a warmer summer day.

Deep red garnet color. Aromas of ripe and black fruits. On the palate the wine is rich, powerful and harmonious - well balanced with wild berry and pepper dominating.

Another winner is the 2015 Gigondas Terrasses de Montmirail. Coming from higher elevation sites and mostly limestone soils, its vibrant purple color is followed by beautiful spice, black raspberry, kirsch and dried flower-like aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, balanced and polished, with plenty of fruit yet also solid underlying ripe tannic structure, buy a case and enjoy bottles over the coming 7-8 years.
