Product Description
Boroli's Barolo is made by a special combination of careful grape selection, precise destemming, and long mascerations with submerged cap. The barrels used to age this wine are very carefully chosen by the winemaker.
Clear bright ruby color with very light garnet red reflections; intense and persistent aroma of red fruit with notes of plum and cherry. A pleasant aroma of wood is noticeable after the fruity aroma, anticipating the full taste of a great wine suitable for long lasting life. A succulent, rich, full-bodied and pleasant taste emerges after the woody one, with the presence of slightly ripe red fruit.
Barolo pairs perfectly with rich dishes such as roasted meats and pasta with truffles.
Review:
A relatively easy-drinking Barolo. Layered fruit on the nose with strawberries and red cherries, together with violets and some licorice. On the medium-bodied palate there’s a light frame of dusty tannins and a sense of freshness. Simple yet precise.

Winery: Boroli
A Piedmontese family of entrepreneurs since 1831. Firstly in the textile industry, then in publishing and now also in wine-growing.
In the 90’s, Silvano and Elena Boroli felt the need to start a new project that could bring them back to nature, far from the crazy rhythms of today.
The choice was almost obligatory for a Piedmontese: Langa wines. A passion that has converted into a job. What could be better?
A very difficult and demanding job, whose results are never achieved by chance, but, precisely for this reason, with great satisfaction.
In 2000, Achille, the third of four children, joined the company.
However, the family origins lie in the mists of time. Many family documents have survived thanks to the conservation and classification work of Don Carlo Pollina (1744-1799), the guardian of little Carlo Antonio Boroli, Silvano’s Great Great Great Grandfather.
Among them, the coat of arms tells us about great merits in the crusades, as shown by the Crescent and the scimitar brandished by the lion rampant, a symbol of perspicacity and bravery. On its part, the shining sun tells us about the resources of the family, blessed by Divine Providence.
Silvano married Elena Verri in 1968; they have 4 sons (Carlo, Guido, Achille and Filippo) who work in different fields, and now 7 grandchildren.
Silvano worked in the graphics-publishing industry until the ’90s and decided to change his life by devoting himself to an old passion of his: the land, which for a Piedmontese can only mean Langa wines.
Achille, after graduating in business administration, decided to take care of the wine-growing and producing business and deal with food-and-wine connoisseurship. After gaining the Michelin Star with the Locanda del Pilone, with the 2012 grape harvest he decided to radically change the methods used in vineyards and vineries, aiming at total quality for Barolo and its crus.

Demoiselles Sancerre Blanc is made from 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc.
The name "Les demoiselles" (translate as "The young ladies"), refers to the beautiful migratory birds (Cranes) that fly over the town of Sancerre twice a year (in the Fall going South to spend the winter in the African continent, and in the Spring going back North to spend the Summer in Northern Europe). These graceful birds offer a unique and impressive show when they sometimes land on the banks of the Loire River. The Fleuriet family wanted to highlight this exceptional grace and express an elegant and refined bouquet in this Sancerre Demoiselles cuvée.
The wine shows a bright yellow color with green highlights, a fruity nose with aromas of white flowers and acacia. Light-medium bodied in the mouth, supple and well structured, its concentration and crisp acidity make it a harmonious and food-friendly wine.
Pairs nicely with fresh goat cheeses, oysters with lemon, grilled lemon chicken breasts and Mexican dishes. Serve these whites at 46 °F (8 °C).
Corinne Perchaud Chablis Premier Cru Vaucoupin is 100 percent Chardonnay.
The vineyard The plots are on the Vaucoupin Chichée village. They are very steep and facing south, their average age is 40 years. The total area is 1.45 hectares. The vines are planted on soil Kimmeridgian marl consisting clay and limestone with dominant clay. Winemaking After a slight settling, the juice is put in to achieve its fermentation tank alcoholic and malolactic. It follows a long aging on lees to bring a maximum of complexity of aromas and flavors. If necessary, we make a collage to bentonite to remove proteins and a passing cold which eliminates tartar crystals. Then we perform a tangential filtration is the filtration method most friendly to wine.
The wine will be bottled 16 months after harvest. The relatively high temperatures at the end of winter allowed an early bud vines in early March. With a hot, dry spring flower took place in good conditions. In July, a hailstorm located did some damage to our Fourchaume plot. July and early August, rainy and stormy brought the water needed for the vineyards. The dry and sunny weather of the second half of August brought the grapes to maturity. The harvest began on September 2 under clement skies.

Brilliant golden yellow robe. The Bourgogne Chardonnay from Remy Lefevre is a marvel of density and aromatic expression. Very expressive on the nose, hints of stone and yellow fruits such as peach, pineapple. The opulence of the mouthfeel is nicely balanced between minerality and very delicate oaky notes. The grapes for this Volnay Premier Cru Les Taillepieds are coming from the vineyard located in the middle of the coteau, halfway up the hill, with a very nice South sun exposure, allowing to reach an optimal ripeness every year.

Villero is undoubtedly one of the most important vineyards in Castiglione Falletto in terms of quality and exposure.
The soil is clayey and calcareous, with a south and southwest exposure. The combination of exposure and soil give us a structured and powerful Barolo, with a deep aromatic profile. The tannins are smooth and soft, thanks to long maceration.

Tenuta di Nozzole La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva is made from 100% Sangiovese.
Located north of the village of Greve in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, the Nozzole estate covers a striking, rugged, mountainous area of about 1,000 acres at 984 feet in elevation. In order to obtain concentration and complexity in the wine, yields are kept low. The grapes are hand harvested, destemmed and crushed. Fermentation is initiated on the skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a maceration period to draw out color and tannins. The wine is racked into stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation before aging in oak vats and in bottle before release. The wine is bottled on the estate.
The 2020 vintage was characterized by a basically cold period between April and May and by a generally warm and dry climate until July. The initial slight delay of the vegetative cycle has been recovered since the summer. The sudden increase in temperatures, especially for the later varieties where the fruit set had not yet ended, has favored a production characterized by sparse and light bunches. The stable and sunny climate of the months of August and September allowed the grapes to complete ripening in optimal conditions.

If I was forced to choose a number of wines that can steer the anachronistic Ripasso category into a brighter future, this would be among a very few. Inky purple-red in color with intense depth to the rim. Aromas of sweet rich fruit and lifted cedar oak fill the glass. Abundant blackberry, violets and cigar box roll through the profile adding complexity and interest. The palate is round and silky with dark plum, liquorice, briar and blackberry primary fruits. The rich, toasty oak, and fleshy rounded tannins complete the palate of this dense, flowing wine. This poised and powerful wine is drinking amazingly well but with it's density and presence will cellar impeccably well.
Selected parcels of estate fruit were de-stemmed into our open fermenters and seeded with yeast. The ferments were pumped over twice daily to maximise color, tannin and flavor extraction. The temperature controlled fermenters allowed the ferments remain in the 22-25 °C range giving amazing fruit expression in the wine. Each parcel was pressed after a minimum of seven days fermenting on skins. The wine completed both primary and ML fermentation in tank before being filled to American oak hogsheads (300Ltrs) to mature.
